I met Lisa Shaw a few years ago at an Orlando Women’s Networking group and learned about her book “No Fear: Fear will Grip You or Grow You.” After reading her book, I reached out to her to see if she would speak for the International Associations of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) Orlando Branch. I was searching for speakers for the 2023 – 2024 year and felt that she would provide a great presentation to members. Lisa Shaw, the Program Chair volunteer, and I (the Orlando Branch Director) had a phone conversation to discuss who and what IAAP was. After the call, we knew we wanted to have her speak to us. We learned she had been an administrative professional early in her career and she knew exactly what to present to a group of Administrative Professionals. The presentation she created was called “Become Unstoppable – Move Out of Your Comfort Zone and See Your Goals Realized.” Our event was virtual; we had over forty-three attendees that evening. The attendees enjoyed her presentation and, gave positive feedback especially regarding the useful tips for overcoming negative self-talk, stepping out of comfort zones and more that might hold them back. I would definitely have her speak to the Branch again should volunteer in the future.
