As I reflect on the greatest gift I’ve ever been given in this life, I’ve discovered it to be one that lacks monetary value. In fact, there is no tangible way to measure it at all.
My gift: JESUS presence in my soul.
Ultimately, this gift came from God, but in my case it was given to me through the lives of two godly grandparents. My grandparents may have left this earthly world early, but they were the vehicle in this life to give the greatest gift.
If you are discouraged and feel your witness is not affective especially to those you love, think again. My grandparents lived out lives consumed with Jesus no matter what was thrown at them. Their lives weren’t easy, yet they always tried to do the right thing. They loved unconditionally and extended grace in a way I have yet to come close to attaining.
If you feel this kind of influence is impossible; it’s not. Join me on the journey as I seek to live a life that draws others to Jesus. The greater God’s/Jesus’ presence becomes in our lives the more healing our presence is in the lives of others. We become the vehicle to graciously love others to Jesus.
“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.” John 3:16-18 The Message
“Carrying out this social relief work involves far more than helping meet the bare needs of poor Christians. It also produces abundant and bountiful thanksgivings to God. This relief offering is a prod to live at your very best, showing your gratitude to God by being openly obedient to the plain meaning of the Message of Christ. You show your gratitude through your generous offerings to your needy brothers and sisters, and really toward everyone. Meanwhile, moved by the extravagance of God in your lives, they’ll respond by praying for you in passionate intercession for whatever you need. Thank God for this gift, his gift. No language can praise it enough!” 2 Corinthians 9:15 The Message (Bold emphasis Andrea’s)
