Dearest daughters of all generations,

As I sit down to write this, I cannot help to think of all your sweet beautiful faces. I wish we could gather on the other side of the screen and talk like close friends. There is something on my heart today so lean in.

As I sit down to write this, I cannot help to think of all the shame, guilt, brokenness that we as women and girls of each generation carry. It can feel like an overloaded bag dragging on the ground. The weight at times can feel unbearable.

Truth be told many of you stay silent. Your closest friend, parent or spouse doesn’t even know about your pain. Over and over you keep silent. Feelings of judgment or commendation take over your thoughts. Your mind starts to race and you don’t know where to turn. The pain becomes unbearable. To numb your pain you look to other things. Numbing it only takes it away temporarily. In reality it pushes it down more.

I’m not sure what hurts you are carrying deep within you. You may have been hurt from sexual abuse. It might be that you are carrying the secret of an abortion. Is it that you have been hurt from mental abuse? The weight of your pain could be suffering from low self-esteem. There is so many more hurts that I could name.

Dearest one, I have been there. I understand how heavy something can weigh on you. This girl understands the thoughts of not wanting to be judged by others. Do I still have those thoughts of not wanting to be judged? Yes, from time to time. Those thoughts do not happen as often. Personally, it took time. Time to come to terms with all the brokenness in my own life. I also had to quit running. Running not only from my feelings and pain, but from Jesus Christ. I had to allow healing into my life.

What I found during my time of healing was Jesus had been there the whole time waiting on this broken girl. I am so ever thankful for the love and grace He has shown me.

He has the same GRACE for you as He did for me.

He loves you…. Jesus loves each one of you. You matter to Him.

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9 NIV

Whatever it is that you are carrying, won’t you lay it at the feet of Jesus? He cares.

Don’t be afraid to let others in your life, like I was. He will take you in His arms. Jesus understands how you feel. He wants to see each generation rising up from the ashes and knowing they are beautiful to Him.

With grace, love and prayers beautiful one.

  1. It can be so tempting to numb the pain but as you wrote it’s only temporary. Only Jesus can heal a hurting heart with His perfect love. So many hurting women need His love. A beautiful post and one that needs to be shared with all women.

    Blessings and love,

  2. Thank you for reminding us that Jesus knows and cares about all our past, present and future. We can always run to Him.
