He’s my King too. Do you know Him?

John 11:25-25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Did you hear the Good News? Jesus has risen as He said! I pray that you’ll take a moment no matter what time of the year it is you come upon this message, and listen to this and allow the love, power and majesty of the Lord to touch your heart. There’s truly no one like Him!

I know what Jesus has meant to my own life personally and I’m thankful that He is everything and more of what is said by Dr. Lockridge below. Get ready to worship the King!!!

What can we learn from the Israelites in Judges?

LisaShaw_ScriptureSharing

God has brought them out of Egypt all those years before under the leadership of Moses. They wandered in the wilderness complaining and murmuring—what should have been a quick trip took them 40 years to enter the promised land.  Do you feel it’s taking you forever to see what was promised, come to pass in your life? Could it be due to complaining, murmuring or unbelief? We have to be willing to ask ourselves the tough questions. When we do, and we hear the answer and make changes to align with God’s Word, that’s spiritual growth at it’s finest.

Now Moses was dead. Joshua had been anointed to take his place and bring the people into the promise land. It was done and now Joshua was dead. They’ve been delivered from bondage and brought into the promised land.  Here they are, the Israelites, in the promise land and asking the question of God in Chapter 1 verse 1, “Who will be the first to go up and fight for us against the Canaanites?”  The Lord answered, “Judah is to go; I have given the land into their hands.”  They asked and God answered. Did you catch that God didn’t say I will give but rather I have given? That’s important for us to note in our own lives.

The Bible looks different in each hand but is it in each hand and heart?

Jesus is the gift2(Lisa’s personal bible and photo)

2 Timothy 2:15 (AMP) Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.

Please read this fully to get my heart—not to offend but for us to examine ourselves in the American Christian culture today.  I grew up in an era where it was natural to see a Bible open and being read by the majority of people in church.  I also had the pleasure of being exposed to godly Grandparents on a regular basis so I saw a consistent flow of bible reading in their home, especially with Grandma.  Grandma would have me sit on the enclosed porch and read passages and chapters from the KJV for discussion.  While most of it I didn’t understand as a child, truthfully, I gained more understanding from the combination of my reading, hearing it at church, and sitting under Grandma’s additional explanations and teachings.  From her I learned to read the Word and the importance of prayer.

Let be and be still

LisaShaw_ScriptureSharingPsalm 46:10 (AMP) Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!

Let be and be still.  I have been lingering on those words as of late.  Many of us have full lives. We are very busy, prayerfully fruitful and not just busy, and if you’re like me there are times when you wish you had 5 hands,  2 brains, 2 hearts and so on just to meet the “needs”.

Words like overwhelmed, fatigued, exhausted, challenging and winded have floated into my vocabulary as of late, along with excited, expectant, encouraged, courageous, determined and blessed!  Feels as if the world is tugging at you at every turn–the blessings and challenges often meeting in the middle and bringing exhilaration and fatigue almost in the same breath! Been there?  It is then we have to hit the pause button and let be and be still.  And in that stillness of mind, heart and body is where will know and recognize that God is Who He says that He is and will do exactly what He says that He’ll do.
